Any old PC can sit on your desk or floor, so why not build one to hang on your wall? That’s our mindset heading into our latest build, which centers around Thermaltake’s Core P5 open-air case. It’s an elegant-looking design when it all comes together, even if some assembly is required. We tackle a full build with it live on camera.
We don’t leave the case hanging, so to speak, matching it with some powerful but reasonably priced parts. It’s an effective gaming and general media machine, outfitted with the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Founders Edition graphics card and Intel Core i7-7700K CPU. That’s a Kaby Lake chip, not a newer Coffee Lake model, but we really like the look of the Gigabyte motherboard for our color scheme, and they don’t make a Coffee Lake-compatible model yet.
Since this PC is made to be seen, we make the more style-focused component choice a few times when compiling the parts, but think it pays off. There’s plenty of lighting to be had as well, between the memory and cooler, adding some extra flair. Check out the live video as well as the parts list below, which includes the best deals on each.
